6 | How to break free from mum guilt
In this episode, we’re dismantling mum guilt once and for all. I believe mum guilt is total BS, not some innate truth, but a learned emotion shaped by societal conditioning.
Everyone's like, “don’t feel guilty, you deserve to take care of yourself” but no one actually talks about HOW to do that. So today, I’m breaking it down for you with four powerful shifts to help you release the guilt, reclaim your energy and start living motherhood on your terms.

1: Take a look at the conditioning
What am I doing when I feel most guilty?
Where did I first learn the idea that a good mum sacrifices it all?
Who modelled this to me? How did it impact the way I see motherhood?
What am I making it mean about me when I don't sacrifice myself Eg When I rest instead of cleaning the house it means I'm lazy/ useless/ not worthy). When pay someone to look after my kids it makes me…..
When have I seen examples of mums thriving without guilt? What did I admire about them? What excuses or judgment came up for why I can't do that?
2: Redefine “selfish”
Make a list of all the ways prioritizing your health, joy and passions actually benefits your children. Examples: You have more patience and energy. You’re modelling self-respect and boundaries. You’re teaching them that their needs matter too.
3: Ask yourself: am I actually doing my best? Gut check your guilt
Am I actually doing my best right now, or is this guilt shining a light on an area where I could invest some time into. Could I do better, am I feeling guilty because
4: Life without guilt
If mum guilt didn’t exist, how would you live? Imagine waking up with zero guilt about how you spend your time. What would your days look like? Would you start the business? Take better care of your health? Spend more time on your passions? How would it FEEL? Visualize it. Journal on it. Make a vision board. Then ask: What small steps could I take today to make that vision real?
